Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS): is a surfactant with a wide range of applications. We use a plant-based surfactant derived from coconut oil. In our detergent sheets, SDS helps break water surface tension and remove dirt and grime from fabrics during the wash cycle. We use a dioxane-free, plant-based SDS that is biodegradable and does not bioaccumulate in water or soil.
Glycerol: is a sweet, viscous, colorless, and odorless liquid. Its properties as a solvent, combined with its hygroscopic ability (absorbing moisture from the air), make it effective for cleaning and stain removal. Glycerol helps soften hardened and set-in stains, making even older stains easier to remove.
Decyl Glucoside: is a mild cleansing agent commonly used in cosmetic formulations and products designed for sensitive skin. It reduces surface tension in water and is therefore widely used in personal care and hygiene products. Derived from corn and coconut, decyl glucoside is a natural and biodegradable ingredient. In our detergent sheets, it helps remove dirt and oils more effectively.
Betaine: is a naturally derived ingredient that can be used as an alternative to harsher sulfates. It is extracted from molasses and sugar beet juice and is an effective cleaning agent due to its high surface activity.
Fatty Alcohol Polyglycol: is a fully biodegradable, non-ionic surfactant used in our detergent sheets to combat stains and break down residues such as oil and soap.
Polyvinyl Alcohol: is a biodegradable polymer used as a binder that dissolves evenly during the wash. Its ability to be fully broken down by microorganisms makes it environmentally safe. It is non-toxic and safe for humans, animals, and marine life. PVA is also commonly used in products such as dissolvable capsules and contact lenses.
Trisodium Citrate: is used as a builder in detergent sheets due to its ability to bind positively charged calcium and magnesium ions found in tap water. Unlike phosphate-based builders, it is environmentally safe. Trisodium citrate improves detergent performance by acting as a cleaning aid and water softener, allowing the detergent to work more effectively.
